Our in-house contracting teams collaborate closely to ensure success for all project stakeholders. Construction project management, or “CPM,” plays a pivotal role in overseeing project timelines and budgets. Comparable to an air traffic controller, they manage various aspects from initial planning to onsite logistics. While they may not wear hard hats, project managers typically have backgrounds in architecture or civil engineering. Their responsibilities vary but generally focus on four main areas: scheduling, delivery, budget management, and quality assurance. Our project managers conduct feasibility studies to understand project goals and challenges, followed by creating schematic designs and floor plans. This stage involves defining key elements such as square footage, materials, and structural considerations.

• Pre-Construction: After obtaining approval, we begin site investigations to assess environmental factors and establish project delivery timelines.
• Procurement: We coordinate bidding and secure necessary materials and equipment internally, establishing purchase orders with suppliers and third parties.
• Delivery: Construction begins under the supervision of a dedicated superintendent, who maintains direct communication with the project manager. With seamless coordination between teams, challenges are quickly identified and addressed.

Advanced Recent Project at Hollywood Public School to Upgrade Sprinkler System

In collaboration with our partner, Vortec Fire Protection, we successfully upgraded the sprinkler system in both the old building and the new additions at Hollywood Public School. This project presented several challenges, particularly the crowded jobsite conditions with multiple trades working simultaneously. One of the unique aspects of this project was the need to drill coring holes through a reinforced three-layer load beam to run the sprinkler system pipes—an uncommon requirement that necessitated running the pipes through the top wall of this beam. Our engineering and drilling teams tackled this complex task with precision and expertise. Using the Hilti DD 150 wet system, they were able to safely drill overhead and complete the project without incident. This success demonstrates our commitment to safety, innovation, and collaboration, even in the most demanding conditions.
